About Us

The Autism & Neurodiversity MasterClass is a global initiative of Autism Camp Australia Ltd, created in conjunction with 28 of the worlds’ leading Autism and neurodiversity educators, advocates, thought leaders and concept originators.

Who is Autism Camp Australia?
Autism Camp Australia (ACA) is a registered Australian charity whose mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of Autistic young people and their families.

We create safe supported spaces where the Autistic community can connect, celebrate their identity and enrich their lives. We aim to enhance life skills through neurodiversity affirming and relationship-based practices, therapies and education focused on supporting health and wellbeing. Autism Camp Australia’s unique, evidence and lived-experience based approach is implemented by a diverse, outcomes-focused team and our neurodiversity manifesto sets a gold standard for inclusion in the workplace, with Autistic and neurodivergent people leading the way at every level of our organisation.

Our commitment to embracing neurodivergence is in everything that we do. We are Autistic-led – we pride ourselves on having significant neurodivergent representation at every level of the organisation, are informed by lived experience and engage in positive lived-experience role modelling. We listen, engage and uplift Autistic voices, constantly evaluating and improving to be the best we can be for all Autistic and neurodivergent people. We support, listen to and learn from both individuals representing the global Autism voice, and individuals from marginalised and under-represented intersectional groups within our Autistic community.

Our vision is self-reliance, independence, social connection and community inclusion for Autistic young people and their families.

Why did Autism Camp Australia create the MasterClass?
To create effective change in people’s understanding of Autism, and the way people perceive neurodivergent individuals; and
Because there is no one course, internationally, which provides such a comprehensive resource for so many different people;
Because there is a need for current (and regularly updated), neuro-affirming Autistic-created content, which educates users about Autism and Neurodiversity, and the Neurodivergent experience, in a way which is accessible, engaging, enjoyable, productive and well designed.
Why does ACA have the ability to create a world leading course on Autism & Neurodiversity?
Because we knew we could bring together the worlds’ leading experts in the Autism space for this project;
Because we believe we have the know-how, and the team, to be a world leader in the standard of written, visual, video and design learning content presented on this topic;
Because we are passionate about driving life changing outcomes for Autistic people around mental health and wellbeing, employability, economic participation, education, and ultimately life expectancy; and
Because we are leaders in the evolution of a balanced and respectful relationship between Autistic young people, their families and all peoples.

The Autism & Neurodiversity MasterClass respectfully acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation, the traditional custodians and guardians of the lands where we live, learn and work. We pay our respects to ancestors and Elders past and present.
