About Us

The Autism & Neurodiversity MasterClass was originally created as a global initiative of Autism Camp Australia Ltd, developed in conjunction with 28 of the world’s leading Autism and neurodiversity educators, advocates, thought leaders and concept originators. The MasterClass is now privately owned and continues to honour the foundational vision and values established by ACA.

About Autism Camp Australia’s Legacy
Autism Camp Australia (ACA) was a registered Australian charity whose mission was to improve the health and wellbeing of Autistic young people and their families. During its operation, ACA created safe supported spaces where the Autistic community could connect, celebrate their identity and enrich their lives, enhancing life skills through neurodiversity affirming and relationship-based practices, therapies and education focused on supporting health and wellbeing.

ACA’s unique, evidence and lived-experience based approach was implemented by a diverse, outcomes-focused team, and their neurodiversity manifesto set a gold standard for inclusion in the workplace, with Autistic and neurodivergent people leading the way at every level of their organisation. Their commitment to embracing neurodivergence was evident in everything they did – they were Autistic-led, prided themselves on significant neurodivergent representation at every level, were informed by lived experience and engaged in positive lived-experience role modelling.

ACA’s vision of self-reliance, independence, social connection and community inclusion for Autistic young people and their families continues to inspire the ongoing work of the MasterClass.

Why was the Autism and Neurodiversity MasterClass Created? ACA originally developed this Masterclass:
To create effective change in people’s understanding of Autism, and the way people perceive neurodivergent individuals; and
Because there was no one course, internationally, which provided such a comprehensive resource for so many different people;
Because there was a need for current (and regularly updated), neuro-affirming Autistic-created content, which educates users about Autism and Neurodiversity, and the Neurodivergent experience, in a way which is accessible, engaging, enjoyable, productive and well designed.
The Foundation for Excellence ACA was uniquely positioned to create this world-leading course because they:
Brought together the worlds’ leading experts in the Autism space for this project;
Had the know-how, and the team, to be a world leader in the standard of written, visual, video and design learning content presented on this topic;
Were passionate about driving life changing outcomes for Autistic people around mental health and wellbeing, employability, economic participation, education, and ultimately life expectancy; and
Were leaders in the evolution of a balanced and respectful relationship between Autistic young people, their families and all peoples.

Autism Camp Australia has now closed, but their important work and vision continues through The Autism & Neurodiversity MasterClass.

We exist to turn awareness into authentic understanding and understanding into meaningful action. Our MasterClass equips individuals, families, educators, and professionals with the knowledge and tools to create real, positive change in the lives of Autistic and neurodiverse people.

The Autism & Neurodiversity MasterClass respectfully acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation, the traditional custodians and guardians of the lands where we live, learn and work. We pay our respects to ancestors and Elders past and present.
